Logistics Planner

Job Description

Howdens Joinery are looking for an Inbound Logistics Planner for a 12-month fixed-term contract, based at our office in Howden, Yorkshire.  You will be joining a FTSE 250 business which is experiencing an exciting period of transformation and growth.  The role offers the opportunity to join a fast-paced Inbound Logistics department where you will work with freight partners and suppliers to underpin service while maintaining efficient flow of goods to our warehouse locations.

As a Logistics Planner, you will manage all delivery documentation and customs paperwork ensuring its accurate and input into Howdens IDS system, while working closely with goods receiving teams on capacity and process. 

You will be a highly organised individual, ensuing the delivery tracker is accurate and up to date. Excellent communications skills and attention to detail is required as you engage with our freight partners to ensure timely escalation of any failed or delayed inbound deliveries. 

Key Experience and skills required:

– Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
– Experience of SAP is desirable.
– Previous experience working in a planning role preferred
– Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
– Able to build and develop effective relationships with other teams.
– The ability to work cross functionally with clear communication
– Must have the ability to remain flexible and cover in all areas relating to administrative duties.
