Records Management Assistant

Job Description

Temporary Records Management Assistant is required by a West Midlands Local Authority who are looking at smarter, more agile and digital ways of working which will entail reducing the amount of paper files in the office.

Duties will include:
QA spreadsheets of records catalogued and ready for deposit by Bin Scan Store team ready for shipping to external contractor
Notify BSS project team of any discrepancies
Assist the Records Manager/RM trainee in retrieving files/boxes from storage contractor
Attend Bin Scan Store Project meetings/updates as/when required
Respond to customer (internal council department) requests for files/boxes held with the records management service’s offsite storage provider
Agree collection of new deposits (non-Bin Scan Store project related) of records with customers
Liaise with records management contractor(s) re. new deposits/collections/retrievals and work with them to resolve any issues.

Experience and understanding of working with confidential and/or commercially sensitive information
Some data protection knowledge would be an advantage
Experience of working at pace in a project environment
Experience of working in a local authority or wider public sector would be an advantage
Excellent customer service skills and experience of working with customers at all levels in an organisation
Ability to work well independently with little supervision and also as a member of a team is essential
Experience of working with Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheets, and cataloguing systems / index work would be desirable
6 month project, 37 hour week GBP10.41 per hour. Hybrid working Warwick/Home
