Senior Software Developer

Salary: Competitive Salary GBP50,000
Location: Bristol City Centre/Remote
Full Time: Permanent

Our client, a successful SAAS company delivering software solutions to Universities and Colleges is seeking a Senior Software Developer.

You will join an expanding team of enthusiastic and likeminded technology professionals and possess an ability and a passion for writing clean, well-tested code, as well as a natural drive to understand new technology and assist in developing solutions to complicated problems.

This is currently a remote role. However, when regulations permit, you would ideally be expected to visit the Bristol office from time to time. That said, if you are only able to work remotely, they are open to discussing that as an option.


* You will work on the evolution of the company platform, adding well thought out features and improving the functionality and performance of the software.

* You will be mentoring and helping junior members of the team develop to its great potential.

* You will be ready to convert all the well-known agile key words (scrum, squads, sprints, burn down charts???) into our core values: collaboration, accountability, and quality.

Necessary abilities and behaviours???:

* Demonstrable commercial experience creating applications with PHP using frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel.

* 5 years’ experience at a commercial level.

* Possess an understanding of Cloud infrastructure with the ability to apply it to improve scalability, performance, and security.

* Have commercial experience in data persistence, covering different database types to better suit the need (SQL, schema-less, in memory cache, data lake???)

* Commercial experience with modern UI frameworks

* Experience – React JS preferable.

* Strong understanding of Application development and best coding practices.

* An academic background with a BSc Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
